, the Bali Health Office (DINKE) has partnered with Soffell, a leading insect repellent brand, to educate residents on effective prevention strategies. The campaign, focusing on the 3M Plus
method, is being rolled out across three cities and districts in Bali.

Recent data from the indonesian Ministry of Health paints a concerning picture of the dengue
situation in 2024. The nation recorded a staggering 257,271 cases, resulting in 1,461 deaths. This figure represents the highest case count in the past three years, with West Java Province reporting the highest incidence (61,423 cases), followed by East Java (32,086 cases), Central Java (17,083 cases), Bali (15,617 cases), and Banten (13,537 cases).
The 3M Plus Strategy: A community-Based Approach
The 3M Plus
strategy emphasizes community participation in eliminating mosquito breeding grounds. the core components of this approach include:
- Draining: Regularly emptying water reservoirs.
- Closing: Securely covering water containers.
- Recycling: Properly disposing of used goods that can collect water.
- Plus: Using mosquito repellent lotions for personal protection.

The educational initiative, part of the broader “Mosquito-Free, Healthy and DHF-Free” program by Enesis group, aims to directly engage communities at the village and family levels. scheduled from April 2nd to June 7th, 2025, the program will cover Denpasar City, West and South Denpasar District, Badung Regency, South Kuta District, and Gianyar Regency, including Ubud District.

prevention, making it an integral part of daily life and significantly reducing the number of cases. This involves not only implementing the 3M Plus
strategy but also ensuring regular inspection and supervision of mosquito larvae by every household.
Government support and Future Initiatives
I Nyoman Gede Anom, Head of the Bali Provincial Health Office, emphasized the importance of the 3M Plus
approach and expressed interest in a future vaccination program, pending national government approval. In the meantime, he stressed the importance of using mosquito repellent lotions, especially before bedtime.
