Snow Season. Which Ski Center Already Has Reservations…

by drbyos

MENDOZA.- The Mendoza mountains are beginning to warm up for the 2024 winter season. Although the weather forecasts are not very encouraging, the first snowfalls are already exciting the main ski center in the Cuyo province: Las Leñas. On this train, the complex located in Malargüe, in the south of the local geography, 350 kilometers from the capital, is counting the days until the opening, scheduled for June 15, since Visitor inquiries and reservations do not stopeager to slide down the white slopes again.

Of course, taking into account the context of the underlying national economic crisis, costs also skyrocketed: you will have to pay up to 450% more than last year to be able to use the lifts and the extensive slopes, in accordance with the tariff that is already published on the company’s website, with all its variables, promotions and specifications based on the ages of the tourists and the days they will ski in the place.

Thus, there are differential prices, and with progressive values, depending on the time and moment of the season that the chairlifts and lifts will be used. In this sense, for the “average” season, which excludes the winter holidays in July and long weekends,

Andalusian Inspiration, Fringes And Red Color

A very Madrid act and a very flamenco look. This is how we can describe the election to preside over the commemorative event of May 2, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, who has made a dress by the influencer Rocío Osorno her own. An Andalusian-inspired design, with fringes and the color red as the protagonist, one of the most visible in institutional events as it is the flag of the Community of Madrid.

Sometimes it is difficult for us to define the style of the Madrid president because it is eclectic, since it ranges from more striking -or less successful- outfits to the perfect guest looks, the kind that you can’t put a single but about.

And on this occasion we do not know very well how to define this choice, although what we do know is that Andalusian fashion is one of the passions of the Madrid president. Of course, he has been unfaithful to Vicky Martín Berrocal, whom we can consider her leading designer, to choose another Sevillian with as much success in the world of fashion as her countrywoman.

Arizona Stops Backsliding On Abortion Rights

The Senate of the state in the southwest of the USA voted on Wednesday to repeal the law after the House of Representatives there had already voted against the law last week.

Arizona’s 160-year-old law imposed a near-total ban on abortion, even in cases of rape or incest. Doctors who perform abortions should also be punished with up to five years in prison.

Former President Donald Trump’s conservative Republicans have a majority in both chambers in the Arizona legislature. The majorities against the law came about because some Republicans voted alongside lawmakers from President Joe Biden’s Democratic Party.

    IN SHORT:

The legacy of the Soviet army is pollution

“Historically, pipelines passed through here, there were large storage reservoirs,” Māris Skudra, project manager of the Ventspils Free Port Authority, shows the place where extensive rehabilitation works took place in Ventspils.

He explains what was in this place, just a few hundred meters from the Baltic Sea, in Soviet times and why such pollution occurred: “In Soviet times, there was a tank landfill here. All these are prerequisites for the fact that there were all kinds of accidents in the pipelines, leaks, why this historical pollution.

UCLA Faculty Demand Amnesty For Pro-Palestinian Students In…

Exploring Injustice and Advocating for Change: The UCLA Hammer Museum Gala Controversy

A wave of upheaval and outrage reverberated throughout the UCLA campus as about 20 faculty members protested outside the prestigious Hammer Museum’s annual Gala in the Garden. This gathering, known for its star-studded attendance from Hollywood glitterati, was interrupted by demands for amnesty to be granted to pro-Palestinian students recently arrested on campus. Additionally, these committed educators called for immediate resignation of Chancellor Gene Block, placing him at the center of a storm charged with dual wrongs inflicted upon pro-Palestinian activists.

“On Wednesday, they said, students received unnecessarily rough treatment from police as their encampment was cleared. The night before, he said, police failed to protect the same students from violent counterprotesters’ attacks.”

English department professor Jonathan Grossman publicly held Chancellor Block responsible for what he perceives as two distinct failures — mistreatment by law enforcement during the encampment clearance and lack of protection against violent counterprotesters’ attacks. Highlighting an incident witnessed first-hand by another esteemed professor:

“Elizabeth O’Brien… witnessed ‘a horrifying mob’ attack pro-Palestinian students for four hours… A police officer threatened us with a weapon in response to our pleas to protect the students.”

Evidently disturbed by this egregious display of brutality toward peaceful protestors advocating Palestinian rights,
