After the disruptions caused by snow and ice, Deutsche Bahn‘s long-distance traffic is largely running normally again. The situation has “improved significantly,” said a railway spokesman this morning. Long-distance traffic to the Baltic Sea has also been resumed – albeit with considerable restrictions. The day before, there were route closures and delays in various regions due to winter weather caused by Depression “Leonie”.
It was said that there are still problems in the northeast. Due to icy overhead lines, individual connections between Berlin and Rostock as well as Stralsund and between Berlin and Binz would be canceled. On Monday, the railway completely stopped long-distance traffic to the Baltic Sea.
On other routes there could be minor delays of five to ten minutes. On Monday there were also delays and train cancellations in the Rhine-Main area, in the Stuttgart area, in the Ulm area and on the Hamburg – Hanover route. There were also restrictions around Erfurt, Leipzig and Dresden.
