There are long queues along national highway 3 in Østerdalen in the interior between Rena and Atna due to slippery roads. Several drivers in heavy transport say it is not safe to drive on, and have chosen to leave the car standing.
It is minus 3 degrees and icy on the road, drivers report.
Managing director Arild Olsbakk of Arne Olsbakk Transport believes that it is highly objectionable that drivers have had to wait several hours for spreading or salting.
Vegtrafikksentralen says that they have informed the contractor about the situation. There are now four cars with sand on the road from Elverum and northwards to spread, the Road Center informs.
