In the manipulation scandal surrounding Norway’s ski jumpers at the 2025 Nordic World Championships in Trondheim, a trio of supervisors has been banned for 18 months. In addition, 5,000 francs (around 5,350 euros) must be paid in procedural costs.

According to the Ethics Commission (FEC) of the world association FIS, head coach Magnus Brevig, assistant coach Thomas Lobben and another member of the supervisory staff, Adrian Livelten, will be credited for the period of temporary suspension that has run since March 12th.

In August, the two top Norwegian athletes Marius Lindvik and Johann Andre Forfang were each sentenced to a three-month ban. There was no subsequent disqualification at the World Championships in Trondheim, even though the two had worn rigged suits.

Norwegians tampered with suits

Videos filmed and published anonymously showed Norway’s team improperly editing competition suits. An unauthorized seam was added to provide more stability in the air. Lindvik won World Championship gold on the normal hill, while Salzburg’s Jan Hörl came third. Lindvik and Forfang also won medals with the team and the mixed selection. The Austrians also came third in the mixed competition.
