(Cheongju = Yonhap News) Reporter Seongmin Lee = SK Hynix announced on the 29th that its handball support project for the developmentally disabled was selected as the ‘2025 UNESCO Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Official Project’.

The UNESCO ESD Official Project Certification System is a system in which the Korean National Commission for UNESCO discovers and certifies best domestic ESD cases.

In 2019, SK Hynix began operating the handball club ‘Happy Moa Challengers’ within its subsidiary ‘Happy Moa’, a standard workplace for the disabled, to help people with developmental disabilities grow into healthy members of society through sports.

In addition, starting in 2021, we supported the creation of 10 handball teams at welfare centers for the disabled and special schools across the country, and the following year, we held ‘All Win Peak’, Korea’s first handball competition for people with developmental disabilities.

Starting in 2023, the All-Win Picks will be held regularly, and until this year, approximately 130 players were provided the opportunity to compete every year.

SK Hynix said, “We will continue to provide support so that people with developmental disabilities can develop their physical and mental capabilities through handball and connect with more people.”
