The Italian Jannik Sinner and the Czech Jiří Lehecka will play this afternoon from 4:00 p.m. (our country time) in the final of the Miami Masters 1000, after overcoming their respective semifinal commitments with authority and getting into the definition of the tournament.
Sinner, number two in the world, reached the final after beating the German Alexander Zverev 6-3 and 7-6 (4), in a demanding match that he resolved in straight sets to confirm his great moment on the circuit.
For his part, Lehecka qualified after clearly beating Frenchman Arthur Fils 6-2, 6-2, in a match in which he dominated from start to finish and sealed his place in the first Masters 1000 final of his career.
The definition will face a Sinner who is going through a positive streak and will seek to consolidate his great season with the “Double of the Sun” (he already won Indian Wells this season), something that no one has achieved since Roger Federer in 2017. Aryna Sabalenka, number 1 in the WTA, beat Coco Gauff (4th) 6-2, 4-6 and 6-3 in the final of the Miami Open to win her eleventh WTA 1000 and take over the Sunshine Double, after the title she recently won in Indian Wells.
