Silver XIII Equilibre System: Lot-et-Garonne Development

by drbyos

The Silver XIII Equilibre system, dedicated to preventing falls and maintaining the independence of seniors, continues its deployment in Lot-et-Garonne. In this context, two demonstration sessions were organized on Tuesday December 2 in Fauillet and last Thursday December 18 in Clairac.

At each meeting, around twenty people came to discover this practice focused on working on balance, coordination and mobility. Supervised by trained facilitators, these sessions allowed participants to try different adapted exercises, in a friendly and secure atmosphere.

“The objective is to offer a physical activity accessible to all, which allows you to work on balance and prevent the risk of falling, while respecting everyone’s pace,” explains Angel, facilitator of the system. “It’s not about performance, but above all about well-being and confidence in everyday actions,” adds Clément, second facilitator.

From the participants, the feedback was very positive. Reine, present during the demonstration session, testifies: “I didn’t think I could do so many exercises. We feel confident, well supported, and the atmosphere is very pleasant.” She adds: “It’s motivating to practice in a group, it makes you want to come back and do it over time.”

Given the interest generated during these demonstrations, the regular implementation of the workshop is now scheduled. The Silver XIII Balance workshops will begin at the beginning of January 2026, with sessions offered every Thursday morning at the Clairac gymnasium from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Other locations and slots are being finalized, pending agreements between town halls, clubs and seniors’ associations.

This program is part of an approach to prevention and promotion of aging well, by combining adapted physical activity and social connection.

With experience throughout France, the Lot-et-Garonne Rugby League Committee aims to increase its interventions to develop and retain its members. It seems that the flame is catching on and should create followers to work on their well-being and reduce the risk of falls as a team within the Silver XIII Equilibre.
