Silksong: New Content Confirmed – Updates & Details

Hollow Knight: Silksong’s developers, Team Cherry, have confirmed that they are working on additional content for the game, but they don’t know when it will be released yet.

Silksong took seven years to come out, so it’s hard to know when this mysterious content will be released, but Team Cherry has hinted that it will feature the Steel Assassin character, who appeared in a previous trailer but has yet to appear in Silksong itself.

Here’s the related conversation with Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier:

Do you want to offer a mix of small updates like Lifeblood, or are you thinking about bigger content like Godmaster and Grimm Troupe? Do you have a specific timetable for this?

Gibson: Simply put, yes, we think about content at different sizes. This may include bigger things like Godmaster. We certainly noticed that players would like an expansion like this, enabling them to enter the spaces of the Pantheon and re-confront the bosses. There are already a huge number of them.

Belen: We were talking about the upcoming project in general. We don’t think about size yet. We just started making new content and working on different parts and clips. We’re still in this world thinking of things to show players.

Gibson: It’s interesting to figure out how to expand an already huge game, while making sure it doesn’t completely overwhelm new players, because they will certainly experience the new content naturally integrated with the base game. Some of that might mean finding ways to hide access to content, because otherwise, by the end of our expansions and development, the size of the game would be too massive.

Silksong remains one of the most played games on Steam following its big release on September 4.
