Shubman Gill Wicket: Dramatic T20 Exit – India vs [Opponent if known]

Cuttack – Vice captain Shubman Gill failed to shine in the first match after returning to the Indian team after an injury. Gill faced two balls in the match and got out for four runs. Marco Jansen took an easy catch on the third ball of Lungi Ngidi‘s first over to return Gill. Gill suffered a neck injury during the first Test against South Africa.

Gill, who missed the Test series and the ODI series, came to play Twenty20 with special permission from the BCCI ‘Centre of Excellence’. But he had to return disappointed in the first fight. With Shubman Gill becoming the vice-captain in the Twenty20 team, Sanju Samson‘s opener position was lost earlier. Gill, who came out as an opener in the series against Australia, could not find big scores.

If Gill is unable to find form with the Twenty20 World Cup around the corner, it will be a headache for the BCCI as well. Sanju did not get a place in the first Twenty20 against South Africa with Jitesh Sharma coming in as wicketkeeper.
