by Archynetys Entertainment Desk

Sherine caught attention with her distinguished performance at the ceremony, and Egyptian media published a lot of information about the artist.

According to the “Youm 7” website, Sherine was born in Alexandria in 1993, and traveled to the United States because of her father’s work there.

The Al-Masry Al-Youm website indicated that Sherine’s father is Tariq Ahmed, who immigrated from Egypt and owns a jewelry store in the American state of Maryland.

Al-Masry Al-Youm said that Sandra, Sherine’s mother, is of American origin, and works as an English language teacher and studies it in the field of human rights.

Sherine began her academic career studying law and social justice, but her attachment to art led her to take singing, dancing, and acting lessons in specialized institutes.

Sherine got a job as a singer on cruise ships, before entering the world of classic Broadway shows.

The major turning point in Sherine’s artistic career was when she was chosen to play the role of Eliza Doolittle in a production of the famous play My Fair Lady.

In December 2019, after the theatrical show ended on Broadway, the Lincoln Center Theater Company chose Sherine to play the role of Eliza Doolittle in a tour to present the same play in American theaters, becoming the first Egyptian artist to play the lead role in a Broadway production.

In a festive show full of Pharaonic scenes, including a drone light show embodying ancient Egyptian gods and the pyramids in the sky, Egypt opened the Grand Egyptian Museum on Saturday.

The huge collection of King Tutankhamun’s treasures is one of the museum’s most tourist attractions, as it is displayed in its entirety for the first time since the discovery of his tomb in 1922, including the golden mask in which the young king was buried, the ruling chair, the coffin, and thousands of other pieces.

In the museum’s lobby stands a huge statue of King Ramses II that stood for decades in a square in central Cairo.

The museum also includes an antiquities restoration and maintenance center, which is considered one of the largest international centers specialized in this field, and was established on an area of 32 thousand square meters.
