Weather today, Saturday, December 6, 2025.. Meteorology revealed the weather condition in Cairo and the governorates, announcing a drop in temperatures in the north of the country to northern Upper Egypt. Cool weather prevails in the early morning, moderate temperature during the day, and cold at night in most areas.

This is accompanied by active winds in some areas, which increases the feeling of cold weather.

Today’s weather

Weather maps today warned of water mist forming from 4:9 a.m. on some roads leading to and from the north of the country, up to Greater Cairo, northern Upper Egypt, and central Sinai on some roads.

The winds are active at times, causing sand and dust on areas of the northwestern coasts, the Western Desert, Lower Egypt, Greater Cairo, and northern Upper Egypt at intermittent intervals.

There are chances of moderate rain and thunderstorms, which may be heavy at times, in various areas of the Red Sea Governorate (Ras Gharib – Al-Zafarana – Hurghada – Al-Qusayr – Marsa Alam – Ras Banas).

There are chances of moderate rain and thunderstorms, which may be heavy at times, in various areas of Sinai (North Sinai – Gulf of Aqaba – Nakhal – St. Catherine – Dahab – Sharm El-Sheikh).

There are chances of light rain, which may be moderate and sometimes thundery, in areas of central and southern Upper Egypt at intermittent intervals.

Chances of light rain on areas of the northwestern coasts and the Canal cities may extend (with an incidence of approximately 20%) to areas of Greater Cairo.

Meteorology announced disruption of maritime navigation in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Suez, and the Gulf of Aqaba, with wind speeds of (50:40) km per hour and wave heights of (3:2) metres. Thunderclouds with an incidence of approximately 40% may be accompanied by the following:

Floods in areas of Sinai and the Red Sea Governorate and the roads leading from them to central and southern Upper Egypt.

Strong wind activity as a result of descending air may cause sand and dust in some areas.

Lightning strikes with thunder clouds in some areas.

As for the condition of the Mediterranean Sea, it will be moderate to turbulent, with waves rising from 1.5 meters to 2.5 metres, and surface winds being southwesterly.

As for the condition of the Red Sea, it will be moderate to turbulent, with waves rising from 2 meters to 3 metres, and surface winds being southeasterly.

As for the Gulf of Suez and the Gulf of Aqaba, it will be moderate to turbulent, with waves rising from 2 to 3 metres, and surface winds being southeasterly.
