Seth Rollins Title Loss & Return | WWE News

by Archynetys Sports Desk

Former World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has made his intentions clear regarding the title he was forced to relinquish due to injury. While the “Road to WrestleMania 42″ continues tonight at Elimination Chamber in Chicago, Rollins is already looking past WrestleMania to a potential return to the championship picture.

Appearing on ESPN’s First Take, Rollins was asked about his future goals as he continues to rehabilitate a torn rotator cuff suffered at WWE Crown Jewel in October. Rollins noted that because he never lost the World Heavyweight Championship in a match, he still views himself as the rightful titleholder.

“That is a loaded question. There’s a ton of guys that I’d like to get in the ring with, but the bottom line is whoever is holding on to my World Heavyweight Championship, because what you got to understand is I never lost that title,” Rollins said. “I was forced to give that title up due to injuries. I want my title back. Right now, CM Punk is holding on to that title, but he’s going into WrestleMania here very shortly. Actually, Elimination Chamber, since we’re talking about it, he’s got to get past Finn Balor. Finn Balor, a former Universal Champion. So Finn Balor could be taking that into WrestleMania. Either way, somebody’s defending that title against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, and whoever comes out of that, I want next, boys. That title’s mine. I never lost it.”

CM Punk is scheduled to defend the gold against Finn Balor at the United Center tonight, with the winner locked in for a main event clash against Roman Reigns at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Rollins has been sidelined for months, leaving his faction, The Vision, in a precarious position after additional injuries to Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.

Despite the uncertainty of his medical clearance, Rollins’ comments suggest that he expects to be back in the mix shortly after WrestleMania 42.
