The first season of The Studio, the sitcom created by Seth Rogen as a love letter to Hollywood, featured a galaxy of stars including Olivia Wilde, Bryan Cranston, Charlize Theron, and steve Buscemi. With such a high-profile start, it’s no surprise that Rogen is aiming even higher for season two, setting his sights on Daniel Day-Lewis.
Rogen told Variety, “He’s the greatest living actor. His process is so specific that I think that would be an interesting thing to explore on the show.”
Rogen is actively pursuing the notoriously selective actor for a cameo, despite not having formally contacted him. “Daniel, please consider a Zoom with us,” Rogen pleaded in the Variety interview.”We’ll pitch you an excellent idea!” Day-Lewis, who retired from acting in 2017, recently returned to the screen for his son ronan’s film, Anemone.
Season one of The Studio also showcased the talents of directors Martin Scorsese,Ron Howard, and Zack Snyder. For the second season,Rogen has James Cameron in mind. He noted that Cameron “is a genius but he’s also known for sometimes getting angry,” seemingly hoping that flattery will help land the director.
