[더팩트ㅣ정소양 기자] ‘New use’ (upcycling), which adds new value to the discarded objects, is melted into the design of the citizen’s daily life.
The Seoul Design Foundation announced on the 22nd that it will operate various programs on the theme of ‘Sustainable Design Life‘ at the Seoul Saewe Plaza from September to October.
First of all, the most anticipated program is ‘Dang Dang Dang Runway’, a zero -waist fashion show with Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) dog on September 14. It will be wearing creative costumes made of clothes that are no longer worn and new materials, and will show the infinite possibilities of sustainable fashion while walking along the runway with dogs.
Wearing costumes made of waste clothing and new materials, a unique stage that walks on the runway with a dog is unfolded. The costume is designed by college students and specialized high school students, which combines the creativity of young designers and eco -friendly philosophy.
On the same day, a ‘resembling contest-Dang Dang Star’ will be held. Citizens who wish to participate in the similar contest can apply at the Seoul Plaza Nuri House until the 31st.
A special exhibition of ‘Time of Textiles: Up Cycling’ will be held with Sookmyung Women’s University Museum.
Three artists combine traditional weaving technology and waste materials, presenting the value of new use of the environment and art. The exhibition will be held on the first floor of the Seoul Saewe Plaza from September 1 to October 31.
Since the end of September, the toy resource circulation project ‘Hatch and Sharing Hero’ will be expanded by adding the senior internship process. The elderly will directly repair and wash their old toys, share their play culture to children and share their experiences and wisdom.
Seoul Birds Plaza has been trading more than 48 tons of new materials since 2019. This is the same effect as planting 2407 trees born in a 30 -year -old tree, which is a result in terms of carbon reduction and resource saving.
Cha Kang -hee, CEO of Seoul Design Foundation, said, “We will show the possibility that ‘new use’ can be expanded to creative cultural contents, not just environmental protection activities through the Seoul Plaza program this fall.
