Senate & Chamber Elections: Results & Analysis

The National Registry has already defined the location of the logos of parties, political movements, coalitions and significant groups of citizens on the electoral cards for the elections of Senate of the Republic and House of Representativeswhich will be held on March 8, 2026.

The drawing of the cards took place in the Convention Center in Bogotá and allowed the order of the logos to be established for the Senateas well as for the Chamber of Representatives for Bogotá and Cundinamarcain addition to the special constituencies indigenous, afro-descendant and international.

Prior to defining the design of the electoral cards, the Registry Office carried out an evaluation exercise with citizens among the 19 and 80 yearswith the aim of measuring the understanding and ease of use of various proposals.

The design that was defined was the one that showed the greatest clarity and intuition, which, according to the entity, will help reduce errors when marking the card.

“The process sought to make the card as understandable, organized and intuitive as possible. It is a design that adapts to current circumstances, taking into account that it does not include photographs of the candidates, it has a double column, backs of different colors and security elements on both sides,” explained the national registrar, Hernan Penagos.

The location

According to the official draw, the positions for the Senate were established as follows: in first place will be the Party of The Ufollowed by the Citizen Force Coalition and the Democratic Center Party. In the following positions appear the Historical Pact Senatehe Colombian Conservative Party and the Oxygen Green Party.

They also appear Patriots, With everything for Colombiathe Radical Change Coalition – ALMA, Alliance for Colombia and the movement We believe. The list is completed with the National Salvation Movement, Safe and Prosperous Colombia, Now Colombiahe Broad Unitary Front and, in position 16, the Colombian Liberal Party.

In the case of the Chamber of Representatives for Bogotáwith a brown reverse, first place was assigned to Citizens Let’s Renewfollowed by the Colombian Liberal Party and a coalition made up of Cambio Radical, La U, Oxígeno, Colombia Justa Libres, La Liga and ASI, among other movements.

As for the card of the Chamber of Representatives for Antioquia, was established like this: first of all the Historical Pact, then the Broad Unitary Front and followed by Now Colombia. In fourth place, ALMA, after this, Green Alliance Coalition. Then the Democratic Center, the Fuerza Ciudadana coalition and the Colombian Conservative Party. Finally, WE BELIEVE, Radical Change, Oxígeno and, finally, the Colombian Liberal Party.

The draw also included the definition of positions for the Senate by indigenous constituency (pink back) and for the House of Representatives by the constituencies indigenous (green), Afro-descendant (gray) e international (coffee).

Finally, the Registry Office reported that in the coming days the departmental delegations will carry out the draws corresponding to the location of logos on the electoral cards of the territorial chambers and of the 16 Special Transitional Peace Circumscriptions (CITREP).
