Young bohlekeglers from stralsund and Greifswald recently battled for supremacy in the regional championships,vying for titles,medals,and coveted spots in the upcoming German Championships. The individual competitions encompassed the U10, U14, and U18 age groups, showcasing the depth of talent in the region.

The SKV Lake District/western Pomerania proved to be a dominant force,with several athletes securing podium finishes and earning their place at the national level. Their success underscores the effectiveness of youth development programs in the region.

U10 Boys: Stavenhagen Shines with Silver and Bronze

In the U10 boys’ category, Malte Glowenia from Stavenhagen delivered an impressive performance, securing the silver medal with a score of 319 wood.Fellow Stavenhagen competitor, Elias Beyer, followed closely behind, claiming the bronze medal with 300 wood. This strong showing highlights the potential of young athletes in Stavenhagen.

U14 Domination: Ast Siblings Lead the Charge

The U14 category witnessed a clean sweep by athletes from the Lake District. Siblings Juliane and Philipp Ast from MSC showcased exceptional skill,winning gold with scores of 793 and 820,respectively. Their outstanding performances secured their spots at the German Championships.Laura Schadt added to the medal haul, claiming bronze with a score of 769. Fritz Wenda from NB-KV secured the silver medal with 789, earning his place at the DM, a remarkable achievement considering he has onyl been training for a year and a half.

U18: Hedrich and Fieber Secure National Berths

In the U18 category, Maxie Hedrich from Stavenhagen delivered a stellar performance, securing both a podium finish and a place at the German Championships with a score of 824. Tristan Schulz (780) from MSC narrowly missed a podium finish and DM qualification.Erik Fieber from MSC emerged victorious, winning the national championship title with an impressive score of 867. Fieber will now represent the MV colors at the DM in Kiel.

Fieber’s victory adds to the growing list of accomplishments for young bohlekeglers in the region. According to the German Bohlekegling Federation, youth participation in the sport has increased by 15% in the last year, indicating a bright future for the sport.
