Second Ave Subway: $1B+ Funding Approved – NYC MTA

by Archynetys News Desk

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is pushing ahead with expansion of the Second Avenue subway, even with funding in limbo.

Executives are expected to ask the MTA board on Monday to approve more than $1 billion to start building the shells of three new stations.

They would be at 106th, 116th and 125th streets.

The money move signals confidence that the project will move forward.

The MTA sued the Trump administration earlier this week over millions in federal funding that’s now on hold. That money is critical to extending the Q line train into Harlem.
