Latvian basketball player Roland Schmidt scored 12 points in ULEB Euroleague 32nd round game on Thursday, in which Istanbul “Anadolu Efes” experienced a loss. “Anadolu Efes” lost to the “Monaco” team at home with the result 93:98 (21:23, 32:22, 20:21, 20:32).
Schmidt spent 21 minutes and 59 seconds on the court, made three of five two-point shots, one of two long-range shots and three of four free throws, won four rebounds, gave one assist, committed two fouls, was fouled four times, provoked two fouls and collected nine efficiency points.
Shehmus Hadzer was the top scorer for the home team with 26 points, while Seiben Lee scored 13 points. Matthew Streisel, Alpha Diallo and Jaron Blossomgame each scored 17 points for the opponents, Streisel also had six assists.
“Anadolu Efes” is in 18th place with ten wins in 32 matches, while “Monaco” is in seventh position with 18 wins.
Meanwhile Davis Bertans scored nine points in the game in which “Dubai” was superior to “Bayern” Munich with a score of 87:74 (18:21, 24:16, 23:14, 22:23). Bertans played 16 minutes and 49 seconds, made two of five long shots and all three free throws, had two rebounds, one steal, one foul, two fouls and ten efficiency points.
For the winners, Dwayne Bacon had 21 points and six assists, Mfiondu Kabengele scored 16 points, Janan Musa had 11 points and six rebounds, and McKinley Wright had nine assists. Oscar da Silva scored 12 points for Munich.
“Dubai” is in 11th place with 17 wins, while “Bayern” has won 13 matches and is in 14th position.
In another match Rodion Kurucs was not in the application of “Baskonia” of Vitoria, as the Spanish team lost 80:90 (24:19, 16:22, 22:28, 18:21) to “Olympiacos” of Piraeus.
Eugene Omoruji had 18 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals for Vitoria, while Timothy Luwavu-Kabaro collected 14+5+3 in the first three statistics. Aleksandar Vezenkov had 20 points and six rebounds for the winners, Nikola Milutinov had 17 points and six rebounds, and Tyler Dorsey and Tyreek Jones had 15 points each.
“Baskonia” with nine victories is the penultimate, in 19th place, while “Olympiacos” is the vice-leader with 22 victories in 33 matches.
Each of the 20 teams in the Euroleague will play 38 games until mid-April. The six best teams of the main tournament will enter the quarterfinals, while the seventh to tenth place winners will compete in the “play-in” round.
This season, the Euroleague final four tournament will be held in Athens at the end of May.
In the last season, when the final four tournament was held in Abu Dhabi, the Istanbul “Fenerbahce” became the champion, which beat the French club “Monaco” in the final with 81:70.
