On Tuesday, 59-year-old De Graaff reflected on the terrible event that took place 25 years ago. Götte died in a motorcycle accident on March 17, 2001. BLØF’s drummer was in a relationship with the sports presenter at the time, who logically still feels the accident as a deep wound.

De Graaff also reflected on the great loss on her Instagram on Tuesday, March 17. “Still close,” the sports presenter wrote with a photo of Götte. The terrible accident had a major impact throughout the Netherlands at that time. A memorial service was organized, which also attracted major Dutch music artists such as Marco Borsato, Guus Meeuwis and De Kast.

After the tragic accident, BLØF canceled several concerts and performances and continued after a few weeks with a new drummer. The Zeeland band also paid tribute to Götte with the song ‘Closer than ever’. The loss of Götte will forever remain a deep wound for De Graaff, who now has a new lover in her life. Sports book writer Nando Boers has been De Graaff’s friend for years and also experienced a tragic loss himself. Boers lost his wife Mariska to cancer.
