On Friday, the German company Siemens Mobility won the contract for 116 new double-decker trains intended for the Zurich S-Bahn and regional traffic in French-speaking Switzerland. Three suppliers were in the running for this contract worth 2.1 billion francs. According to CFF CEO Vincent Ducrot, the choice was guided by investment costs, operating costs, maintenance costs and sustainability.
