Trump, In The First Session Of The Trial…

WashingtonDonald Trump this Monday became the first former president of the United States to sit in the dock in a criminal case. The tycoon appeared before the Manhattan court to attend the first session of the trial for the Stormy Daniels case, a case that, beyond being historic, could also end up disrupting the electoral campaign if Trump is found guilty.

Just before entering the courtroom (which cannot be televised according to New York state regulations), Trump once again portrayed himself as the victim of “political persecution.” “This is an assault on the United States. Nothing like that has ever happened,” he said before the cameras that were crowded at the entrance to the court.

In total, Trump faces 34 crimes, including falsifying documents to hide the payment he made to porn actress Stormy Daniels to buy her silence. The tycoon had maintained relations with her and wanted to hide it ahead of the 2016 elections. Trump’s current former lawyer Michael D. Cohen was the one who was in charge of making the payment to the actress, and he confessed that in total he gave her $130,000.

The election of the 12 members of the jury occupied this Monday’s session and will probably last two weeks or more.

How To Balance The Hand Of Local Governments?…

#balance #hand #local #governments #offer #criticized #regions #Riga #Article

Currently, the equalization of municipalities is calculated based on the number of inhabitants, which are divided into a certain age structure. The Ministry of Finance offers a new equalization model, which will assess how much each of the demographically divided groups of the population pays more than the working-age population. Then the funds needed by the municipality will be calculated accordingly.

The next step will be to distribute either personal income tax (IIN) or state budget revenues to local governments.

It is important that the real estate tax (VAT) would be excluded from the new model. Accordingly, this tax would remain in the wallets of local governments and would not be distributed in the equalization system.

“With these changes, we hope to encourage municipalities to create a real estate tax policy in administrative territories, so that it is more closely related to citizens’ contributions and municipal expenditures for specific projects, as the municipality sees it in its territory,” explained the director of the Department of Monitoring and Financing of Municipal Financial Activities of the Ministry of Finance Inta Commissioner.

IIN also for local authorities of workplaces

The Ministry of Finance is also looking at the possibility of changing the distribution of IIN between local governments.
