Marcelo Culotta, a representative of the opposition for the first minority of San Lorenzo, gave forceful statements on DSports about the difficult institutional situation that the club is going through. In the midst of the crisis, the leader highlighted that San Lorenzo has enough autonomy to move forward without depending on the AFA or external intervention.

“I see it badly. I think that San Lorenzo has enough autonomy as a non-profit Civil Association to handle the election of authorities through the members,” Culotta assured, highlighting that the club has the necessary mechanisms to resolve the crisis without having to resort to the AFA.

According to the opposition leader, San Lorenzo could organize an Assembly of Representatives that elects a Transitional Commission and then call elections within a period of 90 to 120 days.

At the same time, he mentioned that the lack of authorities is one of the main complications facing the club, highlighting that for a month San Lorenzo has not had a secretary, assistant secretary or treasurer, which generates total disorganization. “For approximately a month now there has been no secretary in San Lorenzo, there is no assistant secretary and there is no treasurer because everyone is under a resignation that they made available to the club,” he explained.

On the financial issue, the opponent pointed to the lack of revenue after the match against Deportivo Riestra, something that according to him, did not surprise Marcelo Moretti, who should give explanations about the management irregularities. “The only one who was not surprised was Moretti, who is responsible for all the atrocities that happen in San Lorenzo and will have to give answers,” he said.

Another key point of the interview was the criticism of Karina Farías, the club’s protector, who does not have an authorized signature to manage the assets of San Lorenzo: “Everything that Moretti is doing from October 6 onwards with her signature would be invalid.”

Finally, Culotta insisted that San Lorenzo cannot continue depending on the AFA and that the club must make decisions internally with its own control bodies. “San Lorenzo has its authorities, its Supervisory Commission and its Members’ Assembly. The club has to be able to manage itself and not depend on external intervention,” he concluded.
