Fostering Sustainable Agriculture Through Agroecology
The Agroecological Path project, championed by the Rural Development department of the MGAP (Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries), is gaining traction. A recent visit on May 13th brought together technicians and producers to witness firsthand the advancements being made on properties implementing the project in Canelones.

The Agroecological Path initiative serves as an invitation to rural producers and organizations to embrace agroecological transition proposals. Its primary goal is to encourage the adoption of agricultural practices rooted in ecological science. This strategy aims to bolster the economic, social, and environmental sustainability of family-based agricultural production across Uruguay. The project receives funding from the World Bank and is spearheaded by the General Directorate of Rural Development of the MGAP.
