Samsung TVs & Google Photos: AI-Powered Memory Sharing

Samsung TV aims to be the first to offer Google Photos features starting in 2026. The launch will begin with displaying memories on the big screen, a first for Google Photos, while creation and personalization features will be introduced later in the year.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announces the upcoming arrival of Google Photos on its televisions, offering users a natural experience to enjoy the most important moments of their lives – whether they are travels, passions or everyday memories shared with loved ones – all on a larger and immersive screen. This initiative aims to allow families to rediscover their memories together in a friendly and emotional way.[1]

“Samsung TVs have always brought people together, and the arrival of Google Photos on the big screen makes that experience even more personal”said Kevin Lee, executive vice president of the Customer Experience team of the Visual Display (VD) division of Samsung Electronics. “We offer users an intuitive and engaging way to rediscover the stories behind their photos from the comfort of their living room. »

Better enjoy your personal photos

Google Photos already makes it easy to save, share and rediscover memories. Thanks to this integration, photos captured on smartphones can be automatically displayed on Samsung televisions, in a wide and cinematic format.

With this integration, users will be able to explore memories on their TV selected and organized by people, places and notable moments. Google Photos will also enhance the suite of photo experiences offered by Samsung’s Vision AI Companion (VAC), improving the way memories are highlighted and enjoyed throughout the day.

Samsung wants to integrate Google Photos into the very heart of the TV experience.

Imagine photos that appear naturally through Daily+ and the Daily Board, so that meaningful memories[2] welcome users at contextual and convenient times of the day. The configuration is intended to be simple: all you have to do is log in with your Google account to instantly see your photo memories appear on the big screen.[3]

Three ways to relive and rediscover your memories: Google Photos Memories, Create and Thematic Slideshows

  • Google Photos Memories (launch planned exclusively for early 2026) : displays stories selected and organized by people, places and notable moments. Available in preview on Samsung televisions for six months.[4]
  • Create with AI (launch planned for later in 2026) : Introduces thematic templates[5] based on Nano Banana, Google DeepMind’s image generation and editing model, offering fun and creative transformations. Users will also be able to use Remix to transform the artistic style of an image, or Photo to Video to bring frozen moments to life as short videos.
  • Personalized results (launch planned for later in 2026) : Users will be able to view related photos as a slideshow based on themes or memory content, for example: ocean, hiking, Paris, etc.

A seamless experience of memories on Samsung TVs

Samsung and Google Photos aim to bring a cinematic gallery experience to the heart of the home, allowing Samsung TV users to browse and relive their most important moments in impressive detail. This integration will transform personal photo libraries into a space inviting you to explore your journey, create new stories and remember precious memories with simplicity and depth.

“Google Photos is where users store and organize their photos and videos, while bringing their memories to life”says Shimrit Ben-Yair, vice president of Google Photos and Google One. “We’re excited to bring Google Photos to Samsung TVs, helping everyone enjoy their favorite photos on a bigger screen and reconnect with their memories in new ways. »
