Founded in 1953 under the name Die Gute Industrieform eV, the iF Design Awards assess various aspects of design comprehensively, including differentiation and the resulting impact. Assessment is carried out in nine disciplines, namely Product Design, Packaging Design, Communication Design, Interior Architecture, Professional Concept, Service Design, Architecture, User Experience (UX), and User Interface (UI).

“Today, design goes beyond just products or user interfaces. Design creates meaningful experiences that can connect with people’s lives,” said Mauro Porcini, President and Chief Design Officer Device eXperience (DX) Division at Samsung Electronics. “A human-centered design approach will continue to be at the heart of our efforts — to deliver increasingly immersive experiences while driving responsible innovation.”

Two Gold Awards Appreciating Designs That Improve the Quality of Community Life

The Music Studio 5 at first glance appears as a classic rectangular speaker. However, when looked closely, this device presents unique details such as grille with subtle perforations that hide the high-performance audio unit inside. Dynamic lighting on the front helps users identify key functions more easily, while the design is… timeless allows this device to blend harmoniously in various spaces while presenting aesthetics like a work of art. The simple but innovative shape also provides an expressive character in the room. Music Studio 5 can also connect to Samsung TVs via the Q-Symphony wireless interface, providing a more immersive viewing experience like a cinema at home.

Meanwhile, an advanced design concept for household appliance accessories called “Samsung Home Appliances Accessories” presents a three-color system for various accessories — such as filters on vacuum cleaners and air purifiers — based on maintenance needs and disposal methods. Through this design improvement, users can more easily recognize the need for accessories used, including when these accessories have been replaced or updated.
