ZenonDesingk was initially disappointed by the limited gaming options available on his Galaxy Watch 5. Undeterred, he sought ways to repurpose his smartwatch. After trying traditional methods like installing APK files via Bluetooth, he opted for a different approach.
Through a combination of transferring files from his phone to the watch using Wi-Fi, ADB, and Bugjaeger, he managed to install a PSP emulator on the watch. With some fine-tuning, including adjusting DPI settings, he successfully transformed the Galaxy Watch 5 into a gaming console.
Impressive Gaming Performance
The performance of the Galaxy Watch 5 in running various games was surprisingly decent. Games like Grand Theft Auto Vinewood build and Mortal Kombat achieved frame rates of around 60fps on the watch. Even more demanding titles, such as God of War, ran at about 30 fps, which is remarkable for a smartwatch.
To make the gaming experience more enjoyable, ZenonDesingk paired a Bluetooth game controller with the watch. This allowed for more precise controls, enhancing the overall gameplay. However, the fact that it managed to run demanding games at relatively high frame rates is an impressive feat for a device that launched almost three years ago.
