Samsung Galaxy Unpacked is the company’s semi-annual hardware event, where we get to see major new phones unveiled, sometimes alongside other hardware or software. Now the first Unpacked event in 2026 is expected to take place very soon.
Leaks point to the event being held on February 25th, and while the date has yet to be confirmed, we expect it to take place during the first few months of the year based on previous years.
Thanks to other leaks and rumors, we also have a pretty good idea of what might show up at the event. Below, you’ll find everything we expect to see at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2026 — as well as big things we probably won’t.
1. Samsung Galaxy S26
Table of Contents
Samsung always uses its Unpacked event at the beginning of the year to launch new Galaxy S models, so we naturally expect to see the Samsung Galaxy S26 here.
Leaks suggest it will have largely the same specs as the Samsung Galaxy S25, but with a more powerful processor chip, likely the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a higher-capacity 4,300mAh battery and magnetic wireless charging.
It could also get an upgraded 12MP telephoto camera and a slightly larger 6.3-inch screen, as well as a base level of 256GB of storage instead of its predecessor’s 128GB.
2. Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus is expected to launch alongside the Samsung Galaxy S26, and is likely to be very similar to its predecessor. In fact, it may get even fewer upgrades than the Samsung Galaxy S26, as leaks suggest that neither the battery capacity nor the screen size will change.
Beyond that, the same set of possible upgrades as for the S26 is believed, including a more powerful processor chip, with the most likely candidate being the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, although some sources suggest that the Exynos 2600 will be used in at least some regions.
It may also get magnetic wireless charging and a 12MP telephoto camera that replaces the 10MP sensor in the Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus.
3. Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra
The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is likely to be the star of the upcoming Unpacked event, as it will be the top model of the Samsung Galaxy S26 series.
The upgrades may once again be relatively minor, with a new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset being the biggest news.
In addition, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumored to get a charging upgrade to 60W, possibly replacing 45W, and just like its siblings, it may also get support for magnetic wireless charging. The battery could also get a boost, although sources disagree, but it could end up somewhere around 5,200-5,400 mAh instead of 5,000 mAh like in the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.
It could also get a bigger vapor chamber, a feature called “Privacy Display” to prevent prying eyes from seeing what’s on the screen, and possibly minor camera upgrades. This could include a 12MP telephoto camera instead of its predecessor’s 10MP, and perhaps a new lens and a larger sensor for the 200MP main camera.
4. Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold
The Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold has already been announced, but it’s not widely available yet. We know that Samsung plans to start selling it in the US sometime early this year, so it would make sense to reveal the launch date and price during Unpacked.
However, we’re much less sure that we’ll actually see it here, alongside the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. While both the appearance and such details would be plausible, it’s not something we’ve specifically heard rumors about ahead of the event.
5. New AI features
The tech world is currently obsessed with AI, and there’s a good chance that Samsung will use the opportunity to show off new AI features – likely those that will be launched alongside the Samsung Galaxy S26 series.
For example, we’ve heard that Samsung may work with Perplexity to give the Bixby assistant a boost, and signs of this have already been seen in beta versions of Samsung’s upcoming software. So there’s a good chance we’ll get more of these features demonstrated during Unpacked.
We probably won’t see this
While there may be a lot to show off at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2026, there are also a few things we don’t expect to see.
This includes the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge, which was previously rumored to replace the Galaxy S26 Plus, but now appears to have been scrapped or delayed, depending on which sources you trust.
We also doubt we’ll see the Samsung Galaxy Ring 2 at the event, with leaks suggesting it might not launch at all.
When it comes to new foldable phones and smartwatches, they aren’t usually unveiled this early in the year, and there’s no sign that 2026 will be any different. However, we expect to see the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 series sometime around July.
