“Power Dance”: Finding Strength Through art
Inara Slucka, the festival director, explains the concept behind the repertoire: At a time when people feel the need for emotional support, inspiration and energy, we can be aware of our strengths through dance, which may be forgotten so often everyday, and remind ourselves that we can all create something positive and beautiful together to become a source of power.
This sentiment reflects a growing trend of using art and collective experiences to foster resilience and community in the face of global challenges. According to a recent study by the World Arts organization, participation in cultural activities has been shown to considerably improve mental well-being and social cohesion.
