Saint-Charles Hospital: Expansion & New Services

by Archynetys Health Desk

Long hoped for by an entire region, the symbolic laying of the first stone of the future Toul hospital is scheduled for next August. This gesture will mark the official start of Hôpi’Toul 2030, a vast modernization and extension project representing an investment of more than 30 million euros.

Supported to the tune of 18.5 million by the Grand Est regional health agency, via Ségur de la santé, the system should be operational by 2028-2029.

More beds and adapted care

The ambition is twofold: to respond to the aging of the local population and to improve the comfort of caregivers. The establishment will see its capacity increase from 124 to 150 beds, with an emphasis on geriatrics and follow-up care. A new building will complete the renovation of the existing one, integrating an upgrade to energy standards which has become crucial.

The hospital also focuses on technical modernity. The operating room will be enlarged and equipped with a SurgiCube, cutting-edge technology dedicated to light interventions (particularly in ophthalmology) without general anesthesia.

By developing the outpatient surgery and day hospital sectors, Saint-Charles intends to streamline the patient journey while strengthening its medical attractiveness in a highly competitive sector.
