The Plight of Martial Kermeur: When Injustice Leads to Crime

The play centers on Martial Kermeur, a man driven to the edge after a real estate project, in which he invested his life savings, collapses in his Breton community. This failure, perhaps the final straw for the recently divorced and unemployed fifty-year-old, ignites a desperate act. The narrative unfolds through Kermeur’s deposition, as he faces a judge seeking to understand the motivations behind his actions. The play asks profound questions about the breaking point of an individual facing seemingly insurmountable odds.
