“Manchild” not only signifies Carpenter’s first Number One debut on the Hot 100 but also stands as her second chart-topper overall. Her previous hit, “Please Please Please,” held the top spot for a week nearly a year prior, specifically on June 29, 2024. Additionally,”Manchild” is carpenter’s fourth song to break into the Top 10,following the success of “Taste” (peaked at Number Two) and “Espresso” (peaked at number Three).

Released earlier this month, “Manchild” serves as the lead single from Carpenter’s highly anticipated album, Man’s Best Friend, scheduled for release on August 29 via Island Records.this album marks her seventh studio album and follows her grammy-winning album Short n’ Sweet from 2024.
