The construction of the S1 retail park took only a year

The construction of a new commercial facility located on National Road No. 11 in Tarnowskie Góry took exactly one year. Park S1 in the form of two buildings (“A” in the shape of the letter and “B” in the shape of the letter) was built on the site of the former Tesco hypermarket, which was closed in mid-2021.

The complex, owned by Europrojekt Alfa Saller Polbau Sp. z o. o. based in Wrocław, creates a coherent commercial and service space. Thanks to the investment, districts such as Pniowiec, Rybna, Strzybnica and Opatowice gained a modern shopping center nearby.

Already in January 2025, we informed about the full list of tenants who will lease the premises. The vast majority confirmed it. Here is the official list of shops in S1 park:

S1 in Tarnowskie Góry officially opened. There were plenty of promotions

On Thursday, November 27, at 9:00 a.m., the official inauguration of the S1 retail park took place, the general contractor of which is Adamietz. As we announced, they opened their doors to customers: New Yorker, Action, H&M (although the chain operates practically without interruptions, customers could enter the store from the main parking lot, not the side entrance) and Woolworth.

The inauguration attracted hundreds of people. The parking lot with over 200 spaces was filled in the blink of an eye. No wonder, since chain stores offered favorable discounts. In the New Yorker store, customers could use a PLN 75 discount on purchases (valid from November 27 to 29) and receive a voucher for PLN 25 when purchasing over PLN 125. Here, they were also welcomed by a professional DJ at the opening.

At Action, the staff handed out free bags, and individual products were discounted for the opening. There were also promotions in the Woolworth store, where buyers received a -10% discount. for all products and bags. However, in the H&M chain there are promotions for Black Friday. Maxi Zoo has also unexpectedly opened, which will certainly please pet lovers in particular.

Construction of Park S1 at DK11 step by step

Let us remind you that at the beginning of December 2022, to the District Office in Tarnowskie Góry An application for expansion and reconstruction was received the former Tesco building at Zagórska Street. The document was submitted by Europrojekt Alfa Saller Pollbau Sp. z o. o. based in Wrocław.

The company obtained consent to carry out the investment, but the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways appealed against this decision. GDDKiA argued that the biggest problem was the lack of a sidewalk along Zagórska Street (which is currently under construction) – from the roundabout towards the bus stop. Despite the appeal, the Silesian Voivode ultimately upheld the decision of the District Office in Tarnowskie Góry. At the end of November 2023, the decision became finaland Saller received three years to start the investment.

Construction works started at the end of November 2024 year. The area around the former supermarket was partially fenced, and construction crews arrived to dismantle parts of the structure of the existing facility, formerly the Tesco hypermarket. In the following months, the investment progressed systematically.

In October 2025, work was already underway at the construction site related to finishing external infrastructure. Workers were laying the surface around the new facilities, installing lighting and finishing work related to the preparation of parking lots. Intensive finishing works were carried out inside the buildings: laying floors, installing suspended ceilings, painting walls and installing the necessary technical systems.

A week before the planned opening, signs were installed, parking spaces were marked, and the last crews were finishing the installation of equipment and structural elements.
