Jordan Walker’s time at Rutgers, where he went from a walk-on wide receiver to a starting defensive end that served as a captain, has come to an end.
The New York native plans to enter the transfer portal when it opens on January 2, he announced Friday. Walker has one year of eligibility remaining.
He is the fourth Scarlet Knight to announce their intention of entering the transfer portal, joining running backs CJ Campbell and Samuel Brown, as well as returner Dane Pardridge.
Walker played in 11 games this season, starting the first five before coming off the bench in his final six appearances. He racked up 25 tackles, 11 quarterback pressures, one sack and a fumble recovery across 337 snaps.

Walker’s biggest play of the season came in a road win over Purdue, where a pass deflection on Boilermaker quarterback Ryan Browne led to a scramble in which redshirt freshman Farell Gnago forced a fumble that was recovered by senior safety Jett Elad. The turnover led to a game-winning 30-yard field goal from kicker Jai Patel as time expired in West Lafayette.
Walker arrived at Rutgers from Milford Academy, a prep school where he spent a year after graduating from Rush-Henrietta high school, about 10 miles south of Rochester. He began his college career as a walk-on wide receiver, but by his third year in the program, he transitioned to an edge rusher.
Walker led the Scarlet Knights in sacks during the 2024 season (4), but was unable to replicate that production this fall, where he only had one sack.
