Kyiv Under Attack: Russian Missiles Strike City, Damaging Buildings and Embassies
Kyiv, Ukraine, continues to bear the brunt of Russia’s ongoing assault, with fresh missile strikes causing casualties and widespread damage.
Deadly Strikes Target Residential Areas
Early Friday morning, Russian missiles rained down on Kyiv, killing one civilian and injuring 10 others across four districts. The attack, condemned by Ukrainian officials, caused significant damage to residential buildings, a Catholic cathedral, and a business center. Over 600 buildings lost heating as a result of the strikes.
Diplomatic Missions Damaged
Adding to the devastation, the Russian attack also damaged several embassies located in a single building. Embassies representing Albania, Argentina, Palestine, Macedonia, Portugal, and Montenegro sustained broken windows, doors, and ceiling fragments. Thankfully, no diplomats were injured.
Russia Claims Retaliatory Strike
Moscow claims the attack on Kyiv was a "response" to Ukraine’s alleged missile strike on a fuel production plant in Russia’s Rostov region, which supplies fuel for Iskander missiles.
Cyberattack Targets Critical Infrastructure
