Russia said Thursday that it had shot down 287 Ukrainian drones overnight. This is one of the most massive attacks by the Ukrainian army in almost four years of the Russian offensive.

(Keystone-ATS) Of the drones “intercepted and shot down” by Russian anti-aircraft defense, 32 were heading towards Moscow, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on the Telegram social network.

Due to drone attacks targeting the Russian capital, which is rarely targeted, temporary restrictions have been put in place at the four Moscow airports – Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo, Vnukovo and Zhukovsky -, according to the federal air transport agency Rosaviatsia. Dozens of flights there have been canceled, postponed or redirected to other airports, according to Russian news agencies.

The announcement comes as Ukraine handed the United States its updated version of the plan to end the war with Russia on Wednesday, according to senior Ukrainian officials.
