In addition to Anika Nilles, Rush plans to add other tour support musicians. The idea is to “expand our sound a little,” according to Lee, and probably let the singer and bassist be more relaxed in his performance, as he usually assumed the keyboards.
Also according to the statement, the group intends to play, each night, two selected sets of a set of 35 songs.
Neil Peart’s family supports
Carrie Nuttall-Peart and Olivia Peart, respectively widow and daughter of Neil Peart, supported the initiative in a joint statement.
“We are excited to support the Fifty Something tour, celebrating a band whose music has resonated and inspired fans for generations, and honoring Neil’s extraordinary legacy as a drummer and lyricist.”

Born in Aschaffenburg, Germany, on May 29, 1983, Anika Nilles began playing drums at age six. After completing his studies, he worked with social education before dedicating herself fully to music, with academic background in the area.
Anika’s career began online on Youtube about 15 years ago. In addition to videos with various performances, she provided original compositions, including two solo albums released: “Pikalar” (2017) and “For A Colorful Soul” (2020).
Nilles was the last drummer to accompany Jeff Beck on tour. She joined the legendary guitarist at her 2022 excursion throughout Europe. He died in January 2023 at the age of 78.
Who was Neil Peart

He started studying drums at 13. He moved to London, England, at the age of 18 to live in music, which did not work, leading to the return to Canada in 1972. In July 1974 the band of Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson joined the album on the album “Fly by Night” (1975) with Peart compositions.
He launched seven books based on their adventures around the world and philosophies, as well as 4 other fiction. Three of them were based on the saga of the album “Clockwork Angels”, last of unreleased Rush.
Although he never affiliated with a political party, he described himself in some interviews as “a libertarian with a lean inclination.” He even declared that the ideas of the Republican Party of the United States were “the exact opposite of the teachings of Jesus.”
