Bisnis.comJAKARTA – The rupiah is projected to move fluctuating but closed in the range of Rp16,520 – Rp16,560 per US dollar today, Monday (6/10/2025).
Based on Bloomberg data, the rupiah ended the Friday trading (3/10/2025) by strengthening 0.21% or 35 points to the level of Rp16,563 per US dollar. At the same time, the US dollar index was monitored down 0.08% to 97.76.
Just like the rupiah, a number of currencies in other Asia strengthened. Hong Kong dollar strengthened 0.02%, Singapore dollars strengthened 0.02%, Taiwan dollars strengthened 0.12%, Philippine peso strengthened 0.4%, Yuan China strengthened 0.01%, and Thailand Baht strengthened 0.21%.
Meanwhile, a number of currencies in other Asia weakened. Yen Japan fell 0.07%, South Korea’s Won weakened 0.02%, India Rupee fell 0.06%, and Malaysian ringgit fell 0.1%.
Forex observer Ibrahim Asssuaibi the US dollar index said there were a number of sentiments accompanying the rupiah movement this weekend. From abroad, the market mostly ignores concerns over the direct impact of the closure or shutdown of the US government, considering that the closure of the past only has a limited impact on the financial markets.
The market is more focused on private labor data this week, mainly because the government’s non-agricultural payroll data for the September period seems to be delayed due to the government’s shutdown.
In addition, a number of weak private labor data this week made investors mostly focus on pruning interest rates by The Fed in October 2025, after pruning 25 basis points in September.
The market estimates an opportunity of 99.3% that the Fed will cut interest rates of 25 basis points in the late October meeting, according to CME Fedwatch.
From within the country, Bank Indonesia (BI) recorded inflation in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in September 2025 to be maintained in the target range of 2.5% approximately 1%. Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency, CPI September 2025 was recorded by inflation of 0.21% monthly so that the CPI had been inflation for 2.65% annually.

The rupiah closed lower
Based on data Bloombergthe rupiah exchange rate was covered with a depreciation of 0.12% or 20 points to Rp16,583 per US dollar today.
At the same time, the US dollar index rose 0.73% to 98.46.
