Rupiah to USD Exchange Rate Today – October 14, 2025

Bisnis.comJAKARTA — The rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar is expected to fluctuate with a tendency to weaken in the range of IDR 16,570–IDR 16,620 in trading, Tuesday (14/10/2025).

Launching data Bloombergthe rupiah exchange rate against the US dollar was corrected 0.02% to IDR 16,573. In line with this, the US dollar also strengthened 0.11% to the level of 99.09.

As for yesterday’s trading, a number of other currencies in Asia also corrected, such as the Japanese yen weakening 0.73%, the Singapore dollar correcting 0.07%, the Taiwan dollar correcting 0.38%, and the Korean won correcting 0.13%. Apart from that, the Indian rupee also corrected 0.02% and the Malaysian ringgit corrected 0.09%.

In contrast, the Hong Kong dollar recorded a strengthening of 0.08%, the Philippine peso strengthened 0.03%, the Chinese yuan strengthened 0.06%, and the Thai baht strengthened 0.48%.

Forex observer Ibrahim Assuaibi explained that a number of factors encouraged the strengthening of the US dollar, including tensions between US President Donald Trump and China regarding 100% import tariffs. Ibrahim assessed that Trump’s statement had succeeded in disturbing world financial markets.

Meanwhile, China does not show any concern about the implementation of these tariffs. This is what Ibrahim believes will be a further concern regarding the tariff war between the two countries.

“This firm stance raises concerns about a new escalation in US–China economic tensions,” said Ibrahim, Monday (13/10/2025).

Domestically, the IMF expressed its appreciation for Indonesia’s economic growth, which is considered to remain high, amidst global uncertainty.

Ibrahim said that the government’s commitment to maintaining fiscal discipline with a budget deficit of below 3% and a debt ratio of below 60% to GDP, provided its own strengthening for the national economy.
