The altercations, which took place at the facilities of the San Jerónimo Rugby Club, resulted in injuries to several players from the U14 team.

We have officially notified the Andalusian Rugby Federation,detailing the events and demanding accountability for what transpired last Saturday at the San Jerónimo Rugby Club facilities,Navarrete stated.The club is seeking a thorough examination into the matter and appropriate disciplinary actions.

The club has strongly condemned the violence, emphasizing that such actions are a stark contradiction to the core values of rugby. Members of our club have been insulted and violently attacked, Navarrete confirmed.We condemn these actions that do not reflect rugby values. This incident raises concerns about the safety and sportsmanship within youth rugby leagues.

Club President Defends Diversity and Inclusion

Addressing concerns about the club’s composition and its role in facilitating Gibraltarian players’ participation in the Andalusian League, Navarrete passionately defended the club’s inclusive nature. He highlighted the diverse nationalities represented within the club, including Spanish, Dutch, Swiss, and English players, coaches, and staff who reside in the Gibraltar area.
