Rosneft Oil Worker Training: Virtual Simulator | Education News

by Archynetys Economy Desk

Specialists of the Ufa Scientific Institute “Rosneft” created an innovative VR crane that allows employees to work out actions in emergency situations in conditions as close as possible to real ones.

The simulator model various scenarios: emergency situations and evacuation from the building. With the help of virtual reality, users get into the office and work out algorithms for actions – from the use of a fire extinguisher to helping colleagues and calling emergency services.

Development provides a full cycle of training – from theoretical training to evaluating practical skills. At the moment, the simulator is supplemented with new locations and scenarios to cover more potentially dangerous situations. In the future, it is planned to scaling the project for use in the Rosneft corporate training centers.

Digitalization in all areas of activity is one of the key elements of the Rosneft strategy. The use of virtual reality opens up new technological capabilities that contribute to increasing the efficiency and safety of the energy sector.
