Ronni Le Tekrø Illness & Monsters of Rock Cruise Cancelled

The Norwegian-American hard rock band TNT has canceled its participation in the Monsters of Rock cruise, scheduled for April, because its guitarist, Ronni Le Tekrø, suffers from a serious illness.

Saturday January 31, TNT published the following press release on social networks: “ It is with deep regret that we announce the absence of Ronni for the next MOR cruise. Suffering from a serious illness for which he is currently being treated in Norway, his doctor has advised him against taking long-haul flights for the next six months, or until his condition is completely stabilized.

Every effort was made to explore alternative solutions, including the possibility of playing with a substitute; however, this proposal was ultimately refused. » “While this news is disappointing, Ronni’s health and well-being remain our priority. He is keeping his spirits up and fully focused on his convalescence, hoping to return to the stage as soon as his health allows him to do so. We sincerely thank the fans, promoters and everyone involved for their understanding, support and patience during this time. »

Ronni said: “ I am deeply touched by all of your love and support, and I look forward to returning to the TNT stage at the end of the summer, once my treatment is complete. »

In August 2024, TNT singer Tony Harnell underwent laparoscopy, a surgical procedure used to treat localized prostate cancer.

Harnell beat thyroid cancer in 2009 and later appeared in commercials for the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists to share her story and raise awareness of the warning signs of this cancer.

The group TNT gave its first concert with the return of its singer Harnell on June 2, 2023 in Jærnåttå, near Bryne, Norway.

Harnell announced his return to TNT in November 2022, specifying that he would reunite with Le Tekrø and drummer Morten “Diesel” Dahl on stage in 2023 and for a few concerts thereafter. The trio is joined in the current TNT lineup by bassist Sid Ringsby, who first played with the band on the 2005 album “All The Way To The Sun” and has appeared on various shows with TNT over the years.

TNT’s latest studio album, “XIII”, was released in June 2018 by Frontiers Music Srl. This thirteenth album is the first with singer Baol Bardot Bulsara, who replaced Harnell. Baol is a Spanish singer who debuted with TNT in front of 8,000 fans in November 2017, when the band opened for German hard rock legends SCORPIONS in Oslo, Norway.
