MEXICO CITY, November 16 (EL UNIVERSAL).- The Santos facilities in Torreón have been monitored by more than one team to make it their base for the 2026 World Cup.
One of them is Portugal, where Cristiano Ronaldo plays; However, the president of Santos, Aleco Irarragorri, revealed that the Portuguese star became demanding on the issue of security.
“As the captain (Cristiano Ronaldo) knows well, you have to be very well cared for there. This means that you can move around the stadium, around the High Performance Center and have a bit of privacy.
“Surely they will have open training sessions, but they do want it to be an isolated place so that they can focus very well, and that is what TSM gives you and Azul Talavera gives you. That is what many of the teams look for; particularly the case of Portugal. I think it is obvious,” said the manager.
The Uruguayan team, which will play this Saturday against the Mexican team, is another of those that has been satisfied with the facilities offered by the TSM. While the Netherlands was another of the nations that consulted the lagoon board.
“We have only had those three visits. We think that between now and the draw ends in December, we can receive one or another. It is difficult because they have to travel to Mexico.”
