This Wednesday, December 24, Al Nassr confirmed his status as favorite in the AFC Champions League Two after beating Al Zawraa 5-1 on the last day of Group D.
The Saudi team, which has Cristiano Ronaldo as its top figure, advanced to the round of 16 with a perfect score, consolidating itself as one of the great candidates for the title.
The match, played at Al Awal Park, was a monologue by the Arab team from the beginning. In the first half, the locals scored four goals: Kingsley Coman opened the scoring in the 12th minute, followed by Wesley in the 19th, Abdulelah Al-Amri in the 29th and João Félix in the 44th.
The Portuguese goal came after a masterful assist from Cristiano Ronaldo, who, although he did not score, left a touch of quality: a high pass that João defined with a perfect lob, unleashing euphoria in the stands.
In the second half, Gbadamosi scored for Al Zawraa in the 50th, but Coman sealed his double and the final 5-1 in the 56th. With this result, Al Nassr closes the group stage as the absolute leader and is emerging as one of the strongest teams in the tournament.
