The anticipation is mounting for the match that feels like a piece of the Scudetto on Sunday evening at the Olimpico. Roma-Napoli will be a hot match, both on the pitch but also off it. Yes, because even if the trip is prohibited for residents of Campania, around 15 thousand Neapolitan fans who bought tickets in the capital are expected at the Olimpico.
The big match is circled in red by the prefect Lamberto Gianninigiven the rivalry between the two fans. Scattered throughout the various sectors of the Olimpico, therefore, there will be thousands of Azzurri supporters residing in Lazio or other regions and who can therefore purchase tickets. They will take their seats in the guest sector and in the stands.
The stadium area will be armored. For more than a month the police forces, in order to gain ground, have decided to leave traffic open to cars on the Lungotevere Maresciallo Diaz, usually a meeting point for the Giallorossi’s Curva Sud groups. The same goes for the square of Ponte Milvio, for years a meeting place for the Curva Nord of Lazio.
To normalize the situation and to limit the impact on traffic, it was therefore decided to let traffic flow. Today there will be planning of safety devices. Rome-Naples, as explained by the Rome police headquarters, “physiologically is characterized by a high risk profile”.
