Twenty-five members of the Single union of workers and Employees of the Autonomous university of the State of Hidalgo (SUTEUAEH) recently completed a course on road safety and driving techniques.The course, titled “Security, road education and vehicular driving techniques,” was conducted by the Entity Secretariat of Public Security.
The collaboration was a result of an alliance between the administrative union, the Government, and public safety departments from the municipalities of pachuca and Mineral de la Reforma.
A ceremony marked the end of the training,which the Autonomous of hidalgo hosted. The program is designed to promote continuous betterment through inter-institutional connections and the development of citizens dedicated to safe and responsible mobility. The event took place on Friday,june 13.
Rector Octavio Castillo Acosta addressed the graduates, their families, and friends at Module 1 of the Institute of social Sciences and Humanities (ICSHU). He emphasized the institution’s commitment to citizenship, particularly given the increasing number of accidents in urban environments. “By changing the way driving is understood, everyday reality is also transformed,” he stated.
“This has not only been a course to acquire technical skills, but is a commitment to security and citizenship,” he added, advocating for responsible driving as a way of life that enhances urban coexistence.He also acknowledged the dedication of the instructors,administrative staff,and the union in promoting continuous training for labor development.
Norma Baños Hernández, general secretary of Suteuaeh, expressed her satisfaction with the collaboration between the union, university authorities, and government entities. “This course is not only a result to a technical need, it is indeed a clear response for a safer, more human and more orderly mobility,” she emphasized.
Commander Agustín Hernández Garnica, who leads the Unit for the Promotion of the Culture of Road Education, highlighted that the course enhances traffic knowledge, encourages respect, and aims to prevent violence on public roads.
The training, which commenced on April 21, covered topics such as road education, defensive driving, and the legal framework, including practical driving exercises. He emphasized that such initiatives promote optimal road safety and strengthen responsible coexistence among public road users.
Rector Octavio Castillo Acosta, along with lidia García Anaya, president of the University Board of Trustees, and Ivonne juárez Ramírez, director of ICSHU, presented records and a special recognition to Commander Agustín Hernández Garnica for her contributions to promoting road education.
