Riyas Roadshow Vehicle: BJP Flags Fitness Certificate Issue | Manorama Online

Kozhikode ∙ The vehicle in which the minister and his team traveled did not have a fitness certificate in the public road show organized under the leadership of Public Works Minister P.K. Muhammad Riaz to protest against not being included in the inauguration ceremony of the reach on National Highway 66 from Ramanatukara to Velamam. BJP City District President KP Prakashbabu filed a complaint with Kozhikode Enforcement RTO demanding action in this regard. A symbolic inauguration and road show was organized under the leadership of Minister PA Muhammad Riaz to protest against not getting a place on the stage of development projects inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Kochi.

The minister and his team traveled in an open jeep number KL 01 9069 for the road show. MLAs Ahmed Devarkovil, Thotathi Ravindran, CPM District Secretary M. Mehbub and others also traveled in the same vehicle in the road show organized from 11 pm on March 11. According to the complaint filed by the BJP, it is a criminal act to use a vehicle without a vehicle fitness certificate as prescribed by the Motor Vehicle Act and the Minister traveling in such a vehicle without any security is a challenge to the public and a violation of the law. In the complaint, the vehicle that violated the law should be taken into custody immediately and a case should be filed against the minister and others who deliberately led the violation.

When contacted CP Prajith, a native of Palakkad, who was registered as the owner of the vehicle in the records of the Motor Vehicle Department, Manorama told Manorama Online that he had handed over the vehicle to a friend in Ramanatukara. The vehicle was registered in 1990 and is 36 years old. The fitness period of the vehicle ended on January 28.
