WHAT HAPPENED?
CHP Deputy Chairman and Zonguldak Deputy Deniz Yavuzyılmaz posted on his social media account yesterday, “AKP‘s documented helicopter hit!” He made a statement and published a document. Following Yavuzyılmaz’s statement, TPAO denied the claim. Yavuzyılmaz’s statement was as follows:
“AKP’s documented helicopter profiteering!
Türkiye Petrolleri Offshore A.Ş., a subsidiary of Türkiye Petrolleri A.Ş.;
We detected the huge payments he made to a helicopter rental company with a Qatari partnership for helicopter services provided to drilling ships.
TP-OTC first collects the rental amounts from TPAO and then transfers them to Redstar company.
Paid per helicopter;
Daily rental amount: 36,000 Dollars
Monthly rent amount: $1,116,000
Annual rent amount: 13,140,000 Dollars
Current Exchange Rate: 552,668,400 Liras
552 Million Liras annually!
While it is possible to buy a helicopter in 1 year with the exorbitant rent paid for a helicopter, this is robbery!
Here is the document⬇️”

STATEMENT FROM TPAO
After Yavuzyılmaz brought the issue to the agenda, TPAO also shared a statement on the issue.
In the statement made on TPAO’s social media account, it was stated that “the rental fee for the helicopters used by the TP-OTC company is 8 thousand 667 dollars, not 36 thousand dollars as claimed.”
TPAO’s statement is as follows:
“It has become necessary to make the following statement regarding the allegations that distort the facts about the helicopters used by our TP-OTC company. A total of 6 helicopters are used to provide the logistics of our naval elements working in the Sakarya Gas Field. 2 of them are registered in the TP-OTC inventory. For 4 helicopters, services are received within the scope of the Offshore Services Agreement. The contract in question covers personnel transfer and cargo transportation and emergency medical evacuation services within the scope of the TP-OTC needs and planning of 4 helicopters. This “In this context, the rental fee per helicopter serviced is 8 thousand 667 dollars, not 36 thousand dollars as claimed.”
When the financial analysis of the ongoing contracts is made, the statement stated that the current prices and costs are well below the regional averages, and added: “It is known that daily rental costs are around 15-20 thousand dollars per helicopter in the Middle East and European examples.”
