Shots on the Kennedy slab

Friday evening, around 8 p.m., several shots rang out on the Kennedy slab, in the Villejean district, near deal points known for the sale of cocaine. A bullet went through the window of an apartment, fortunately unoccupied at the time of the incident.

The scene, filmed by a resident, quickly circulated on social networks, relayed in particular by opposition elected official Charles Compagnon.

The next evening, around 9 p.m., a new episode of shooting broke out. The BAC reportedly arrested a man suspected of being one of the shooters. The CRS 82 was immediately deployed to reinforce the teams already present on the ground.
According to the police unions, there is a serious shortage of personnel in the face of “particularly prepared” groups, deplores David Leveau, regional secretary of the Unité union.

Violence escalates in Blosne

During the night from Saturday to Sunday, a 25-year-old man was found dead in his vehicle, in the Blosne district. He was reportedly hit by around ten bullets in the upper body. The victim was known to the police for cases related to drug trafficking. It was a local resident who raised the alarm. Around ten shell casings were found near the vehicle.

The Rennes public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into aggravated murder, entrusted to the DCOS of Rennes.

A flying arrival

It is in this particularly tense context that Franck Robine, new prefect of Brittany, officially took office today. His taking up position was immediately caught up in the news: in the morning, he had an emergency meeting with the mayor of Rennes, who requested additional reinforcements.

“In view of the serious and rapid rise of this phenomenon in Rennes, we need the staff to be able to support the reality of the threat,” indicated a local official, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.

The prefect assured that he wanted to implement the law against drug trafficking promulgated in June 2025, which notably strengthens publication bans and facilitates the administrative closure of businesses used for money laundering.

The mayor of Rennes also requested the extension of the presence of CRS 82 during the end-of-year holidays.
