Millicent McKinley Dies at 92: A Life Filled with Love and Family
The community of Kilfennan lost one of its most cherished citizens recently with the passing of Millicent (Millie) McKinley, who peacefully left this world at Oakleaf Nursing Home in her 92nd year, surrounded by her loving family.
The Beloved Family Legacy
Millicent McKinley was a devoted wife to the late Robert, a cherished mother to David, Sandra, and Norman, and a loving mother-in-law to Elizabeth and George. Her bond with her family extended to her role as a devoted grandmother to Craig, Adam, and Joshua, and further to great-grandmother to Harriet, Arlo, Jax, and Hugo, embodying a lifetime of nurturing and compassion.
A Mournful Farewell
The family plans to mourn Millicent’s passing with a funeral service and a service of thanksgiving. The funeral procession will leave her son’s home, 11 Arden Place in Woodburn, on Thursday, February 20, at 11:30 am. This is followed by a service of thanksgiving at St. Peter’s Parish Church, located at 1 Culmore Road, at 12:00 pm. Burial will take place in Ballyoan Cemetery afterwards.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that the memorial donations be made to either St. Peter’s Parish Church, located at c/o Parish Office, Anglia Dobbins, Culmore Road, Londonderry, BT48 8JB, or Dementia N.I., c/o NICVA Building, 61 Duncairn Gardens, Belfast BT15 2GB. Community members are also invited to pay their respects at Norman’s home on Wednesday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and evening from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
